News and updates - November 13 2008

Its been another exciting month as our main processing server failed! The good news is that we're now back and up running following a complete re-install on a new server. Whilst we were working hard to restore the server, we added yet more new regions and sites (including a load in the southern hemisphere) and so divegenie is now monitoring over 200 sites worldwide. We've also welcomed a couple of new advertisers this month (for UK regions) with 'Kennack divers' and 'West Bay diving' advertising on their local forecast pages. Divegenie is now receiving over 15,000 hits a month, so keep spreading the word! And as ever, if we aren't covering your region of interest, let us know and we'll do our best to add it in.

What is divegenie.com ?

A good question! divegenie.com is a free access website providing forecasts for diving and snorkelling conditions all over the world. Each forecast is for the next day and contains forecast maps of visibility, plankton and temperature. Historical data for specific dive sites are also given so you can see how the conditions have been over the last 8 or so weeks. Links to weather forecasts are also given, providing wind, swell and air temperature forecasts.
